TopicPanlasang Pinoy: Top Food Destinations in the Philippines

There are different types of travelers here in the Philippines, we have solo flight traveler, couple goal travelers, and groupie travelers! Our own country has so much to offer because there might be a delicacies you haven't tried yet.  My target for today's blog are the travelers who want to travel and eat with squad or barkada, here are my top recommendations that is worth the hype and visiting!

6. BINONDO

Our top six in the list is Binondo, a Chinatown in Philippines that showcases different chinese cuisines that filipinos love. Years had past, the town became a food hub that comprises a Filipino-touch with Spanish and Chinese heritage. The foods to keep an eye out in here are the lumpia, misua guisado, and beef mami. We are already familiar with their snacks such as dumplings, hopia, flaky pastries, and fried pancakes, but the three recommend trying are their best and perfect for squads. Of course, Siopao is the best of all the best in Binondo because it is made differently from what we eat in our own towns.

5. BATANGAS

Next on our list is Batangas, the city were Taal Volcano is their pride and joy. Going here in Batangas alone might be lonely because of its cold breeze weather, squad is the answer to heat up the travel! The best combo for the weather is their ultimate comfort: Lomi, a noodle soup with chicharon, fried garlic, pork innards, and onion springs. Its broth is thick that is best to eat when hot, and best to eat with squad. Batangas not only have a soup but also offers their popular Kapeng barako, a strong flavor of coffee whether it's sweet or slightly bitter, it's your preference, still the essence of the coffee is still there.

4. ZAMBOANGA

Yes, I heard you, it's so far from our usual city and town, but isn't the squad will make your vehicle sound crickets? We will not keep our vehicle from a boring travel!

Zamboanga is located in western Mindanao region and offers their popular dishes that we haven't heard yet. Did you know that Zamboanga close ties with countries like Malaysia and Brunei? With these ties, Philippines had a distinct cuisine from those countries. First is Tiyula Itum, it has a spicy beef and goat soup, cooked with ginger, turmeric, and lemongrass. Another popular favorite is Kurma, a spicy curry dish that uses braised beef, coconut milk, and spices. We already loved and fond of Chicken curry but these cuisines gives different hit of spices and flavors that will surely become your favorite!

3. BACOLOD

Bacolod City, also known as "The Home of Chicken Inasal". Filipinos are so attached with "Mang Inasal" Restaurant because it offers unli rice with only 119 pesos. It is super affordable yet it's crowd favorite, but this time let's try the original inasal that is located in Bacolod! What makes this Inasal special is it is marinated with their special vinegar called Sinamak. I believe this recommendation of going to Bacolod is also worth the hype not only to experience their best food but also comprises the best destinations. Bacolod is also known as "The City of Smiles", we have The Ruins, Jalandoni Museum, Pulang Tubig Falls, and more!

2. ILOCOS SUR

The second to the last on our list is Ilocos Sur. They are known for its valuable historical sites and their history is rich and highly celebrated. You are already familiar with dinuguan, right? In Ilocos, their specialty dinuguan is Dinardaraan which the main ingredients are pig;s meat, pig's blood, and spices. And my favorite delicacy and the star of Ilocos Sur, Vigan Longganisa, a pork sausages combined with spices. Be sure to buy packs to bring pasalubong with your love ones, okay?

1. PAMPANGA

And the top one on our list, The Culinary Capital of the Philippines, Pampanga! They are blessed with excellent chefs even the vendors and stalls' dishes are worth the hype! Sisig is their original dish that has been remake and trying to imitate in over the country. It is a must-try dish in Pampanga that if you avail a tour package, Sisig is requisite! Another dish of Pampanga is Morcon, it looks like large imbotido but its ingredients are different that makes it special. Lastly, in this extremely hot summer, Halo halo is the best to cooldown your body. This dessert are simple yet tasty enough to satisfy your tongue.

Philippines has so much to offer to us, we just need to call our friends, book a schedule, travel, trip, and eat!
